Well kids...I've survived the 2004 Stanfest...what a time!...3 days of drinking and catching some amazing acts in Canso, Nova Scotia!

Eastcoast musicians like the Ennis Sisters, Shaye, Dave Panting (Rawlins Cross, and Figgy Duff), Dave Gunning, and a hella lots more were great!...not to Mention the Imports that I caught like Dervish, from Sligo, and of course always a treat to see Fregus O'Byrne again!...Had a great chat with John Allen Cameron's son Stuart, and enjoyed listening to Ariel Rogers sing last night at the performers after-fest party....well...I'm getting shaky now...anyone who made it there will agree it was amungst the best Stanfests yet!!.........Slainte!

Reel: but the most important thing is...

Stan Rogers has had a great influence on my own song writing. Several reviews of my recordings have likened my songs and style to that of Stan's. I hope someday to make the long trip to Canso for this great festival. Alaska is a great place to live, but damn, its so far away from so many wonderful music events.

I will blame it on only being AWARE of the festival for the last couple of years -- I am still relatively new to this type of music, to be honest... but next year, I'll be singing along with ya, and perhaps share a case of Alpine as well!

Sounds great to me Brian!...I only get to enjoy a nice Alpine twice/yr when I come back east...head back to the Flatlands tomorrow bright and early so no more Alpine til Dec. for me...sigh...back to drinking Keith's and Moose Green so I can atleast feel like a Maritimer...

ps..familiar with the song "Rocks of Marasheen"?...looking for the lyrics......Slainte!
