05 Jul 04 - 06:30 PM (#1219525) Subject: Stan Rogers Folk Festival From: TS Well kids...I've survived the 2004 Stanfest...what a time!...3 days of drinking and catching some amazing acts in Canso, Nova Scotia! Eastcoast musicians like the Ennis Sisters, Shaye, Dave Panting (Rawlins Cross, and Figgy Duff), Dave Gunning, and a hella lots more were great!...not to Mention the Imports that I caught like Dervish, from Sligo, and of course always a treat to see Fregus O'Byrne again!...Had a great chat with John Allen Cameron's son Stuart, and enjoyed listening to Ariel Rogers sing last night at the performers after-fest party....well...I'm getting shaky now...anyone who made it there will agree it was amungst the best Stanfests yet!!.........Slainte! |

Several reviews of my recordings have likened my songs and style to that of Stan's. I hope someday to make the long trip to Canso for this great festival. Alaska is a great place to live, but damn, its so far away from so many wonderful music events. |
