07 Jul 04 - 08:38 PM (#1221022) Subject: BS: My problem is back From: kendall Well folks, my E.N.T. has found another suspicious spot on my vocal cord. He doesn't know what it is without a biopsy, so, I'm going to see a voice specialist in Boston for a biopsy and surgery. He told me the worst case would be removal of the voice box, or if it is a cyst it must be surgically removed, more radiation is not an option; they just won't do any more. I could use some positive energy. Someone said the definition of time is "Just one damn thing after another." Lilly Tomlin said it is "The same damn thing over and over." |

08 Jul 04 - 12:52 AM (#1221116) Subject: RE: BS: My problem is back From: LadyJean They found a spot on my mother's lung that turned out to be a calcium deposit brought on by living in Pittsburgh for 74 years. There was also the bone scan, that turned up something odd on her rib cage. It turned out to be a cracked rib. But we had a terrible worry over that one. My boyfriend had a growth on his hip joint, they were almost certain was malignant. It turned out to be benign. Of course the S.O.B. dumped me three months after the surgery. But that's no never mind. Another of my upbeat stories. Dr. Frank Gilmore was the first person to have a lung removed because of cancer. That was in 1933. He delivered my sister in 1956. |

08 Jul 04 - 08:49 PM (#1221802) Subject: RE: BS: My problem is back From: GUEST,Clint Keller Right, waiting is the hard part. I've been there twice, and never got to liking it, but both times the biopsy came out all right. And if it's not entirely right, there's generally something you can do. My old painting prof, Mary Kirkwood, was dedicated to oil painting; she never married on principle, because she thought it would interfere with the painting. She didn't let anything interfere with the paintiing. One day she said "You know, every time I hear of an artist that lost his hand and can't paint any more I have to laugh." And she laughed a while. I was a little shocked. Then she said. "If you know where the paint is supposed to go you can put it on with your elbow." Best case or worst case, you can survive, and prevail. (I'll push for best case.) clint |

11 Jul 04 - 07:10 AM (#1223210) Subject: RE: BS: My problem is back From: kendall Ok, here is an example of the stuff I'd like to record, but they would ruin my reputation. I'd be called a COMEDIAN instead of a humorist. Abner Larrabee is a lifelong country bumpkin from Machias. One day he went to the big city, Bangor, on business. While there, he decided to get his hair cut in one of them fancy shops. While he was getting trimmed, there was a beautiful scantilly clad young woman fussing about and he couldn't take his eyes off her. All the women he knows are so ugly the tide won't take them out. He didn't know that she was a manicurist, and he didn't know there was such a thing, so you can imagine what he thought she was. After his hair is cut, she took his hand and said "Would you like to have your cuticle pushed back"? He shrank back in great embarrassment and replied "Oh no dear, I'm afraid it's back as far as it goes." |
