Blue Grass Radio

Does anyone know a radio station that has a large blue grass schedule. I spend a lot of time on the computer and use Real Player to listen to some distant stations. I would like to know of a blue grass station that streams their broadcast.
Thanks for any and all help.

I can recommend my station - www.wfdu.fm   Check out our schedule. We offer several blocks of bluegrass each week.

WBRF, 98.1 FM, Galax, Virginia, has a lot of bluegrass and old-time music, especially in the evening. It can be heard, if conditions are right, as far north as Beckley, WV, and almost as far south as Charlotte, North Carolina. Whether it is on-line, I don't know, but you could call them at (276)236-9273 to ask.

Get ahold of a current copy of Bluegrass Unlimited magazine, it lists several.
Also try www.wamu I think that's the address from memory. If not search for WAMU.

WDCB radio College of Dupage 90.9 FM or streaming on:

www.wdcb.org

Wednesday Night 7 PM CST is "Strictly Bluegrass" with the very knoeledgable Larry Robinson. 2 hours of what you are looking for. Also followed by the one hour show: "When Country Wasn't Cool" where you will hear how great Nashville sounded in the Hanj Williams and Ernest Tubb era. Almost perfect radio.

Mostly folk music throughout the day. Bluegrass specifically on Sundays at 12:00 noon (Pacific Time), HERE, but they play bluegrass at lots of other times, too. It's the Bellevue Community College station in Bellevue, across Lake Washington from Seattle. Great station for folk music of all kinds. Browse the schedule and check the various links.

In Los Angeles on Saturdays beginning at 8am PST on KPFK.ORG & KCSN.ORG, one can find bluegrass shows. Wouldn't you just know you would have to choose between them! Then on Sunday am, same time KCSN has a show of bluegrass and old-timey music; it is a great show, and I recommend it. Personally I find a stretch of four hours straight of BG to be a little much, so thank God for the old-time music.

Here's what ya do (if you're on a PC running Windows).

Open up NOTEPAD.

Enter the following line:    http://wamu.sc.llnwd.net:12205

Save as "Bluegrass.m3u" to your desktop.

Now, when you doubleclick on that file, it will open up whatever program you have selected in your Windows options to run MP3 files (whether it be MediaPlayer, MusicMatch, WinAmp, etc) and you can listen to some great online Bluegrass radio (with no commercials) at any hour.
