We're moving to a new house. This one has 2 pools (freeform and circular) in the back along with square hot tub, gazebo and lots of neat stuff. Across the street (200 ft) is Rock Creek Park with bike paths to Lake Needwood or in the other direction all the way to the Potomac in DC.. One of my bikes is a full suspension electric variable speed with automatic transmission and a range of 30 miles so biking is a breeze under any circumstances.
The theatre room with fireplace and seperate bar is down below. The music studio is on the main 2nd floor and guest rooms are upstairs.
I like the details like the 3 rooms that are wood throughout and beamed ceilings in the dining room.

Let me know if you are ever called to DC on urgent business
Remember I have 2 kids 4-8 and soon a new dog and cat so restful it is not.

Closing date is mid Aug.

In case any of you folks are concerned that poor ol' Donuel will be living in a dangeruos neighborhood, forgit it...

In this neighborhood, he'll be rubbing elbows with Congressfolks, high priced lobbyists, lawyers and Indian chiefs...

Lobbyists and lawyers? Sounds like a bad neighborhood to me. (BG)

Yeaahh. What could be more dangerous than a neighborhood full of lawyers, congressmen, and lobbyists? I'll take the South Bronx anytime. At least you know what you are dealing with.

Donuel,
Just joking. Good luck with your new home. It sounds beautiful. Enjoy!

Maybe the Mudcat Tavern should install a door to his backyard, for a quick dip in a pool or his hot tub. The patio is underway at the tavern, but this link would be quicker!

Don, keep a list of new art between now and when you get resettled, then please post the links. I think we all will be in need of it. A few weeks in the political scene especially in an election year can yield all sorts of goodies for you to work with!

Has Don illustrated the Tavern yet? :~) I'd like to see his version of the lime jello pit with traces of tattered knickers trailing over the edge....

The lime jello pit went away when the hot tub was installed. Is it going to be recreated beside the new patio outside?

The lime jello pit never actually goes away. Trust me, it's still there, even if invisible. Probably just needs a good fuggin'.

Zoom in picture from space.

It's not a mansion but you can see the pool from space.

Wow, Don! It's always wonderful being next to a park like that. I live next to an area that is unfortunately going to be developed in the next couple of years, but we've managed to save out about 45 acres of park land. That helps.

You have a nice looking corner lot in front of that pool. Lots of grass to mow also! Maybe the cicadas have quieted by now? That close to the woods, they'll probably be a dull roar if they're still singing.

I don't think I mentioned a kennel but yes it has one. The pool at 45 feet is about as long as our current house. The back garden is a 2 minute mowing job but that L shaped front yard is twice what I am used to. I think I'll hire mowers for that. My wife wants a once a week maid. I didn't say it out loud but I heard myself say "I'd like a once a week prostitute."
Today at the inspection I saw some big but fast irridescent dark blue butterflies that I thought only came from Brazil. I saw deer but the kids were totally uninterested. I thought (tick repellant).

I learned why they added the hot tub and the 18 ft. round pool. It costs over $300/mo to heat the big pool in Oct. or May. Of course if one used a solar cover and black vinyl bottom you could probably cut the cost by half or more. I built my own solar cover reel this year. I just pull a cord to cover and reel it in with a handle.

Your big problem is going to be keeping the leaves from that lovely park out of your three bodies of water.

I have a solar cover but I will have to get a winter cover. Winter starting in Sept for the leaves.
