Sidmouth ticket?? (2004)

Subject: Wanted: Sidmouth Festival Ticket
From: Kate

Just wondering if anyone has a Sidmouth festival ticket (inc camping) that they want to sell? I've already got one but a friend of mine wants to come along for the latter half of the week. Would even be interested in paying to share someones ticket if they're going for the start but not the end. Thanks, Kate.

Hi All,

I've been meaning to join for months. Finally got round to. Hope I don't accidentally breach any rules :-)

It's a long shot but I'm in need of a Sidmouth Season ticket. Would appreciate it if anyone could let me know if they hear of one going spare. Thanks.

Bob

(For identification: Herga FC, Herga Morris, Herga Mummers, Sidmouth Dove, etc, etc )

Bob H (welcome btw) We already have hovering Bob from Herga FC hope this doesn't lead to confusion 8-)

Welcome Bob...

Can't seem to get Sidmouth tickets for love nor money at the mo. Tried to appeal for one earlier in the week with no luck. If you get offered more than one or a day ticket can I muscle in?

To guarantee confusion the other Herga Bob is a Bob H as well. But he's the young (!?) upstart. I may go rarely these days but I do go back 30 years with the club.

Now I'm confused. I know 2 Bob H's with Herga connections and I thought they both regularly contributed here, are you a 3rd?

No Kevin, I think it's one of the 2 you already know. My home address book always shows Hovering Bob before Bob H on account of alphabetically Ham precedes Haw.... Bob H is the one who used to share a lab at Marconi with Mr Vernon, and run PA rigs at festivals, and who still goes out with the Herga Mummers on Boxing Day...

On the other hand, Bob Williams is a Mudcat member too....

I can't help with a ticket though! George Simmons is trying to find one too....

Actually Kitty, Herga Mummers come out with me. ;-) Anyway, thanks for summarising my life so succinctly. Bob Williams now prefers Rob, I belive.

Kevin - I put that line on the original post so that you, amongst others, would know who I was! The Dove reference should have been a major clue! BTW I have an idea for the quiz...

Bob H

But Kevin is only one of the 6 contestants in the quiz - have Chris Pitt and Keith Rusby any idea what your idea is?

Kitty

PS are any of the Herga Mummers coming out this year, apart from Paul Draper (the one in the dress)?

I realised it was you Bob H but I thought you were already a regular poster here! Hence my confusion.

Then I recalled that I was getting confused with umf!

As Kitty posted, Keith and Chris need to know your idea, you can email or PM it to me if it won't give me any edge over the other contestants.

In fact, Kitty, have Keith and Chris any idea about anything? And what do you mean by "only" one of the contestants :-)

They were calling for them on E-ceilidh - and there was one for about an hour.

AND I thought Sidmouth was not making enough money and is threatened with closure. Of course it will happen next year come what may. But it may be an ad hoc collection of like minded people entertaining themselves.

Er..... I think I just defined FOLK. Oh dear. Sorrrrreeeeee

Kevin

Apologies for the ambiguous (not intended to be derogatory or belittling) use of "only". We all know, of course, that you're such a star that you're the only resident contestant in the Folk Quiz and belong to many famous families... (I'm just trying to remember whether you've you been a Water Daughter yet?)

Kitty

PS BTW you're being unduly modest on not having the edge because you'd have it on the unrehearsed stuff anyway....

The Herga Mummer in the dress might be coming out. I've always had my doubts about him - you'd better ask Liz the Squeak.

COming Out? I'm coming To Sidmouth. But with my Albion hat on except that Albion don't wear hats. Any suggestions as to what I should wear for the Lord of the Rings fancy dress party?

I've been a "quiz" Carthy but can't recall being a Waterdaughter. I'll be adding another family name to my pedigree at this years quiz!

I'm glad it's still at the Bedford, early in the week on Tuesday I'm pleased to say. Although it seems a bit later than usual at 5.45 to 7.15, then I'm MC'ing the Arts Centre Evening at 8.00. Not much time between for my usual 5 course dinner! I suppose I'll have to auction my place at table.

I guess Bob H will be at Sidmouth with or without a ticket.

Anyone else got the 50th anniversary book yet? some fascinating reading.

Kitty - yep.

Not got the book yet - but I am invited to the launch party! :-)

I'm invited too, but I'm singing in an event at the Arts Centre....

Kitty

Meanwhile, any news of a ticket?

I have one full week ticket to sell, also a camping pass.

My friends are still going, so it would be possible for anyone interested to meet up with them and exchange cash for the tickets onsite at the festival or camp grounds. Please contact me asap if you are interested. I would like to recover the full price of the tickets, but we

#125 for the full ticket
#35 for the camping ticket

You don't need to buy both if you aren't interested in both.

Thanks!
