Cool Beans goes to Newfoundland

Going canoeing in Newfoundland for a week, starting Sunday. It's an organized trip but we have evenings free in some towns. Can any Catters tell me if there places to hear music in Burgeo, Corner Brook, Rocky Harbor and/or Deer Lake? We won''t have transporation beyond our own two feet -- four feet, counting the Ms.
   Thank you all.
Marty

Here you go, Cool Beans. I'm jealous. I'm still looking forward to my first trip up there:

Should be some good music happening in Rocky Harbour at the Ocean View. Try to get to Shallow Bay for the Neddy Norris Nights, sponsored by Theatre Nfld and Labrador as part of the Gros Morne Theatre festival; they also have some great drama on there. Corner Brook usually has some good music in the bars, though not necessarily of the traditional kind.

Have a fun time!

There used to be campfire sings at Gros Morne at Lobster Cove Lighthouse, and park staff can usually put you on to any local music happening in Bonne Bay. Starting to sing at any park campground will usually draw an encouraging crowd. My first album got its start that way 18 years ago (!) and I hear from friends occasionally that the music still goes on.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! There's a Neddy Norris Night (they call it "a time") that fits right into our schedule, and the theater runs a shuttle to and from Rocky Harbor where we're staying! Catters rule!
