From: TheBigPinkLad

Is this it Skarpi?

My Heart's Tonight in Ireland

In the town of Scariff the sun was shining in the sky
When Willie Clancy played his pipes and the tears welled in my eyes.
Many years have passed and gone since the times we had there
But my heart's tonight in Ireland in the sweet County Clare.

Chorus:
My heart tonight is far away across the rolling sea
In the sweet Milltown Malbay it is there I'd love to be.
So long ago and far away but nothing can compare
My heart's tonight in Ireland in the sweet County Clare.

That August in Kilrush when the rain was lashing down
And our hotel was that haybarn on the outskirts of town.
We were all sick and feverish and Dolan had the flu,
But Johnny produced some whiskey and the sun came shining through.

Chorus

Those nights in Six Mile Bridge when the songs and music flowed
And it came to closing time sure the lights were turned down low
And the sergeant from Kilkishin he would buy us all one more
And we never left that pub before the clock was striking four.

Chorus

Lahinch and Enistymon, Lisceanar and Kilkee
But best of all was Milltown when the music flowed so free
Willie Clancy in the County Clare I'm ever in your debt
For the sights and sounds of yesterday are shining memories yet

Chorus

... And can atheists be included in your list of friends?

Skarpi, no luck on the lyric.

Atheist = Belive there IS NO God

Agnostic = One who suspects there is one, but does NOT believe.

Halló all, here is the right chorus:

Comeback, come back sweet Annie,
come back for I will be there,
We´ll sing and we´ll play, In the old fashion way
On the hillside of sweet County Clare.

All the best Skarpi Iceland.

From: artbrooks

How about this one?

THE CLIFFS OF MOHER
Lyrics & music by Dermot Kelly

1. I'm sitting on the cliffs of Moher
Looking out to sea
The broad Atlantic swells below me
A bridge love between you and me
The puffins cry above the tide
The seagulls glide through the air
Calling you back from New York City
Back home to the county of Clare

CHORUS: Come back, come back sweet Annie
Come back for I will be there
We'll sing and we'll play
In the old-fashioned way
On the hillside of sweet County Clare

2. I'll hold your hand, we'll walk through the Burren
With limestone and flowers so rare
The yellows and reds, the gold in their petals
Will match your blue eyes and fair hair
We'll visit Quinn Abbey and Fein Cill Sula
Where holy ones once knelt in prayer
But how can this be, if you stay away darling
From your home in the county of Clare? CHORUS

3. I'm looking across at the great Aran Islands
Inis Mean, Inis Mor, Inis Oirr
They've nestled there neatly caressed by the ocean
Surrounded by water so clear
But you have the smoke and the dust of the city
Where people pass by and don't care
There's love and there's welcome as warm as the sunshine
For you in the county of Clare

Is there a name for someone who suspects there is no god but believes anyway.

Other than Puddleglum the Marshwiggle of course. (apologies to those unfamiliar with the Narnia stories)

I hope those are the right words - the cliffs of moher sound beautiful

Anne

How about Deist? These are the guys who basically belive that there is a god, that he/she/it started it all going, and then said "well done, me...let's go have a beer and let them muddle on by themselves."

One of my favourite tunes, written by John Kirkpatrick, who I only discovered a few years ago, but impresses me with his ability to write cleverly simple or simply clever tunes.

Halló all, atrbrooks thank you for this, now I can go and play this for my friends I am going camping tomorrow.

Ed why Fool ????

I have been a rescue man since I 13 years old , on watch 24 hour a day all the year and I have had to go to some very bad calls
and seen people die in front of my eyes and believe it, if you do or do
not believe in God you always go and find some comfort in the bible
or in Gods house. There you will find some peace it´s strange but it works for me and other who did not believe. it felt good.

A friend of mine asked me a Question once, skarpi is the bible a
true book or is it just a navel who someone wrote??
is God an Alien ??? I looked at him and said , I connot answear
this question, why becouse i don´t know, I am one of thouse people who are always looking for some?????? and I am still looking.
I got the book " Anam Cara " and I loved it ,why? maybe goes I found something in the book witch touch my heart.

Well anyway I hope that we will all be good to all we know and love
the live goes to fast to miss it, "we don´t know what we have untill we miss it " my granmother said this to my once.

All the best to you all , I ´ll be back on Sunday after camping,
till then Bless og goda nott, Skarpi Iceland.

Am I correct in saying the the same Dermot Keel is a former Limerick hurler who broke Clare hearts in the 1955 Munster Final
