Good link, Jack. I got sluffed off on another thread a few months ago for saying something similar. You will never know just how happy I am to see that article.

Sho nuff the Sauid's is running out... So is everyone else except fir the stuff that is layers of shale which is costly to extract but, fear not, we'll get around to it, too...

BTW, i'm kinda surprised that no one has mentioned anything about the Cheney/Bush Energy Policy which was written by folks that the Supreme Court says the American people have no leagl right to know about. It gives massive tax breaks for folks to go out and purchase big gas guzzling SUV's, fancy crew cab trucks and the like. What give here? What kinda responsible administartion would make oil consumption its centerpiece, rather than conservation?

George W. Bush was hand picked and carefully coached by the energy industry to be our president. Through manipulation of the voting procedures in this country he was able to get the office even though he didn't get the votes. His job is not to do what's best for America, but to reduce the interferrance of government on corporate activities and to boost the profits of his buddies in the energy business.

In the last few years, Bush has successfully reduced government regulations to control pollution, he has opened enormous areas of federal lands to mining and logging while at the same time reducing the corporation's requirements for environmental safety. He has given back hundreds of billions of dollars to corporations in the form of tax breaks and corporate welfare to the point where the surplus we enjoyed at the beginning of his reign has now turned into the largest deficit in the country's history.

Without a doubt, this has been the best government money can buy.

as near as anyone can tell, Bush doesn't care about environmental problems and oil depletion because he expects Armageddon any time now. He has probably been advised not to say this openly and specifically, but he lets little remarks slip.

Whether or not he is right, and whether or not the oil lasts 10 years or 100 years, it WILL run out...and serious concern will be given to the situation.....right after it becomes a crisis. We humans have a hard time focusing on the alligators until they are biting our collective ass.
