09 Aug 04 - 06:43 PM (#1243569) Subject: BS: catsPHiddle needs more surgery From: Catherine Jayne As many of you know I surgery on my knee earlier in the year to break and reset my knee which worked wonderfully. Thank you all for your support. Unfortunately on Friday I had a bad fall but I didn't see the doctor until today who sent me straight round to the hospital. It seems I may have torn the cartlidge in the knee. The surgeon can't do an MRI scan to check due to the metal pins so the only option is surgery. For the time being I am back walking with crutches. I will know more hopefully in a week or two. |

I will be going in for surgery withing the next 4 months to have the same operation on my left knee as what I had on my right knee (Tibial Transfer) they will also have a look in my right knee with the camera and clear out any broken cartlidge there. The consultant says my left knee is too unstable to be left alone. Because I had the fall 2 weeks ago I will be going back to see the consultant on 30th September to make sure all the soft tissue damage has healed and he will give me a date for the surgery. At least they now know how badly you react to being knocked out (they didn't last time, remember) and aren't going to try putting you under twice.
