Unless of course the hamsters were actually lemmings, or were trying to evolve into flying ones?

But it actually is a Olympic event, for there is a (German) song about it. So it has to be true.

In my opinion. Anyone who stands on a balcony, or anywhere else for that matter, should not toss off hamsters or guinea pigs. If they do then they should be charged!! Sexual molestation at the least!

Here in Brisbane, recently several guys were in court for running & participating in a live mouse eating contest in a pub.

It really ought to be illegal to stand there on a balcony in plain view, tossing off your hamster.

Maybe they could toss the man off the same balcony and see how he likes it.

Wouldn't you need a magnifying glass to be able to toss off a hamster on a balcony?

could face up to a year and a half in prison if found guilty of killing his six pet hamsters

"Sir John" .... it is "our" fear that you may be guilty of multiple infractions....of multiple UK laws....and the evidence may lie within your immediate neighbors....and your multiple postings to the MC threads......

If found guilty....you know, as a UK citizen....your crime and punishment will not be viewed as capriciously as our southern neighbors view such offences.....

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!!!

And the hamsters of Hull too!!!!

Aren't hamsters kind of on the suicidal side anyway? Maybe it was some sort of hamster Jonestown? Stranger things have happened...

What if he had fed them to a large snake? I'm pretty sure the most they can hang him for is endangering motorists, and maybe littering. What he really ought to be worried about is the Revenge of the Rodent Underground, especially if they can muster up the support of our good friend Corridus.

Hamsters? Suicidal? I thought that was lemmings.

Lemmings aren't suicidal. That was a myth perpetrated by Walt Disney. People who watch Walt Disney nature films, on the other hand....

Never having owned (or known anyone who has owned) lemmings for pets, I can't vouch for their suicidal tendencies. However, having worked in a pet shop, I do know that hamsters are most definitely suidcidal. They escape from their little penthouses and leap into the jaws of cats and dogs, run under any sort of heavy items that are being set down (usually too late for the horrified owner to do anything about it) and get trapped in duct work, found only when their little corpses start to stink up the place.

So, my question is still: Did they jump or were they pushed? And how much influence did they have on the poor hapless guinea pig?

If you have a hamster and a cat, at least the cat gets an extra meal when the hamster escapes.

Isn't there a song called Hamster Love? I think we have it on a Dr. Dimento collection.
