Is this a dregs of summer boredom problem? Has the BS section ever been as banal and juvenile as it is right now? As Bobert suggested with his Mudcat Slam Book thread, is this the way mostly over 40 folkies are in real life?

I can't speak for everyone else Enquiring mind but in my case the answer is YES. I'm bored senseless at work at the moment trying to write a bussiness plan,counting the minutes before the Whitby fest starts, so anything stupid & senseless is welcome, owt to counter the boredom.

that is very funny and made me laugh. i like to wear thongs and skirts on a weekend and call myself shirley, with a padded bra and summer frock as well.. and on the evening i wear pink PVC hotpants and a black PVC bra and knee high pvc boots and go to the local shops to buy some bread.

it is quite relaxing i have found

I hear you Bee Dub, but it seems the banal and juvenile threads are chock full of spiteful and hateful, rude and tactless, pompous and arrogant posting right now.

The hair trigger hostility around these parts of late has been breathtaking.

The game seems to be: start a troll thread, flame those who post/don't post to it (depending upon the intended target), and then apologize to members for demonstrating poor judgment.

I would just like to take this opportunity to bitch ...um ...complain about the CBC online radio being unavailable to me for the duration of the Olympic games. I think this really sucks, and I'm having bad withdrawal symptoms. If I have to start listening to NPR again to get my classical music fix, I'm going to be really pissed (US definition).

"make up on your fingers" jOhn??? It's 2 layers of Boots nail hardener, followed by a layer of fibreglass in super glue, then as many coats of Boots topcoat as will adhere. Not very sexy, but it stops your nails shattering when following the true path.
