From: Rasener You are becoming a fixture Moorleyman :-) For somebody who has to travel so far, that is a compliment to Gainsborough Folk Club. Isn't it amazing how many clubs close over the summer. The number of people there last night is a a testament to the fact that if a club stays open, they will still get the audience, especially if they are good. |

Compliment fully intended..... the club so deserves the good audience it gets, well done Sooz and Mike. To use the parlance of the estate agent - I don't mind being a fixture as long as it's fitting! Thanks to all at Gainsborough for the genuine welcome and friendly atmosphere. Yes, you're right, many clubs close over the summer. but even among those that stay open there are those that get cliquey with a select few who just sit around and chat about their holidays all night instead of getting down to the proper club business of singing and playing!! It's a "lesson too late for the learning" if the clubs close down then as a result, hey? |
