22 Aug 04 - 05:03 AM (#1253308) Subject: Why don't we hear more about Louth F C ? From: Rasener I have been several times to Louth Folk Club, and have always enjoyed it there, but nobody ever seems to warn us when it is on, and indeed review from each night. A bit more publicity from you guys in Louth would be appreciated by me, and I am sure others. |

Maybe we're just shy....nobody else at Louth FC seems to be a catter, so I had a feeling that it might be an embarassing 1 post thread if I put anything about it! Soooo Louth FC this Tues (24th) only I shan't be there cos I'm on holiday! Missed you guys at Gainsbro cos I was ill.....I think I'm doomed!! Rosie. |

22 Aug 04 - 11:53 AM (#1253484) Subject: RE: Why don't we hear more about Louth F C ? From: Strollin' Johnny Doug, why don't they have it put out there in 'Folktalk'? Non-Louth-dwellers would hear about it then. Presumably it's a 'folk' session, not a rock/pop/blues jam? |

22 Aug 04 - 03:48 PM (#1253667) Subject: RE: Why don't we hear more about Louth F C ? From: Doug Chadwick I'm not sure that there is a "they" in terms of organisers – just a group of people who meet in a pub to play music – mainly Irish / Celtic. I heard about it by word of mouth. I've only been a couple of times and was made to feel welcome but it does seem to be pretty much a musicians' only session. Doug C |

24 Aug 04 - 05:16 PM (#1255622) Subject: RE: Why don't we hear more about Louth F C ? From: the fence The Wednesday nite session at the woolpack is all music(excellent music). Talented musicians including Lucy Coggle and her sister. The Louth folk club meets at the "Ye Olde Whytte Swanne" in Louth every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the Month.(note not every other week. It is non-smoking but unfortunately no children allowed. However, that said, it is a friendly club and artists who come to the club from out of town are given plenty of time to show what they can do. Hope to see you there("Old peculiar" in the bar) |

From: GUEST,Owd Roger the Skiffler (via the backdoor, after Error 502 again)...not that I'm pedantic(??) but shouldn't that be "Old Peculier" (deliberate misspelling). [Yes. jOhn, I know it's not a spelling site but I'm anal retentive obsessive, you see!]. RtS (old and peculiar) |

25 Aug 04 - 09:26 AM (#1256230) Subject: RE: Why don't we hear more about Louth F C ? From: Sooz It should indeed, RtS, you old pedant. It's my favourite gargle - 4 bottles for £5 at Morrisons at the moment. Unfortunately, when we trek over the Wolds to Louth, it is often me who has to drive home. This life is so unfair. |
