BS: Movie Help: Who Has Seen the Wind?

When I was a kid, I saw a TV movie, like maybe a Hallmark Presentation type thing. I think the title was "Who Has Seen the Wind?", and my recollection is about a ship and people living on it, I think a family.

Not Reap the Wild Wind, or this one: CLICK

Maybe this one: CLICK

Anyone else see it?

Nope, not unless they were living aboard a prairie schooner, but I would highly recommend W.O. Mitchell's book and subsequent movie linked by the same title.

I googled a book by Marion Conger and Susan Perl from the right time period, but could not find a book review to see if the movie might have been based on it.

There was also a great Aus mini-series called, if I recall correctly, Against the Wind.

Is seeing the wind anything like seeing the light?
Sorry......

Susan, This movie looks great! What a cast! We want to see it. It's listed in Halliwell's "Film Goers and Video Viewers Companion" 1988 edition - in Edward G Robinson's movie list. Nowhere else that we can find. In this list it is not identified as a TV movie for what that's worth. Funny. Wonder why it went away? Joy

Made for TV, I think. They usually die a quick death.

Your second link is the same movie. Theodore Bikel played the captain of the ship, if I remember rightly. The premise was that it was crewed by displaced persons after WWII, who for bureaucratic or whatever reasons, did not have passports or legal nationalities, and so could not get off the ship. The problem was that that captain's young daughter was a maturing teenager, and a temptation to the guys on board, so they had to get her off the ship before something bad happened. I forget how it ended, but I recall it as a really great movie.
