And,as if that wasnt enough, you get the chance to meet me as well. And on the Sunday evening,at the Crown Hotel, Don and Nash will be appearing as special guests of the Boat Band. |

One of the Friends in question being Andy Roscoe, winner of the STP's prestigious John Brunker Trophy which he was awarded at this year's Middlewich Folk & Boat Festival. The afternoon features an Open Mike spot from 3.30pm and all are welcome to come along and give us a turn (if you'll pardon the expression) or, of course to just listen and enjoy a drink. I'll be going down there around 3 or 4 when the African workshop at the Red Cow has finished. (And before the sensational Boat Band gig with special guests at the Crown Hotel at 7.30ish) |

I had a good time...the Zimbabwean singers Don and Nash were the high point for me, whether teaching songs at the Red Cow, singin at the Crown gig, or just sessioning at the Black Lion. I was only there for one day, but it sounds as if everyone enjoyed themselves. |

As always everyone had a great time. Particular thanks to Monologue John (Ashton Under Lyne), Mark Bailey (Trent Vale), Richard Faulkner (Burslem) and Andy Roscoe (Moston Green, but formerly of the City Of Salford). No-one from the African continent, sadly, but our horizons are limited. Also thanks to Carrianne from the Folk & Roots Festival, who looked after us, and the world-famous Fluff who put in an appearance and gave every indication of enjoying herself. Grateful thanks to the landlord and landlady of the Red Cow.Professor Parsons and I (along, I'm sure, with thousands of others) can heartily recommend the food. Ta once again.
