WINDY MORNING

I walk the winter's beach , I've so little to remember
Though the year is growing old and already it's December,
I am only here today, I have nothing to erase
And though the sea is stormy, still the waves are trimmed with lace
On a windy morning, windy day
My footsteps are unfolding, tomorrow's yesterday.
I walk alone. I'm not lonely.

The fishermen are working, first in two's and then in teams
And they're mending their nets, well, I'm mending my dreams.
And the shingled beach is waiting for the tide to come up high
And the sun is only shining where the ocean meets the sky
On a windy morning, windy day.
And the waking fort is busy, for the morning now is late
And the colored ships are waiting for the sea to bear their weight.

Then the wind blows the tears to the corners of my eyes,
Yet I sail like the sun and I listen to the cries
Of the seagulls on the wing as they ride the sky above
And though my thoughts are flying, still my heart is full of love
On a windy morning, windy day
My footsteps are unfolding, tomorrow's yesterday.

I have that song on a very old tape. The transcription is mine and may still have mistakes in it. I think it is Julie Felix singing. I don't know whether it is her song or sombody else's. I know nothing at all about the song except that I love its description of a walk by the seaside and its fine painting of a certain mood (still a bit hurt, but yet strong again): I walk alone. I'm not lonely.

Julie Felix sang WINDY MORNING on her album "Clotho's Web," 1971.

Thanks. That could fit. My live (in a radio concert) recording is from 1969/1970).
