If you are as good as you say, Why don't you drop an e-mail to Radio Derbyshire asking if they can help, by putting your request on air.

Send it to

Folkwaves@bbc.co.uk

for the attention of Mick Peat or Lester Simpson

They broadcast from 7:00pm to 9:00pm every Monday evening.

If you're near Matlock and want to form a fiddling due, my lad might be interested!

Hmmmm...there used to be a fiddler around our house....she disappeared a few weeks back....I'll have to make it a priority to find her tonight....she's got to be around here somewhere!

I already looked in my bed cuz WYSIWYG found hers in her bed...but mine isn't in my bed.....hmmmm....perhaps under a dust bunny somewhere.....

heifitz,

Where abouts are you in Derbyshire.
I live in Derby. I'm a melodeon, concertina and double bass player.

What sort of playing are you looking for?
My mate Rod (accordion and piano) and I have a band called Stradivarious. Our original fiddler moved down south some time ago and we have series of temporary players but nobody local as a permanent replacement.

We played at Sidmouth this year (8 workshops and 5 dances) but aside from festivals we do everything from barn dances to formal scottish dances and period english dances.

Send me a pm to get in touch.

Mitch
