Lyr Req: I'm stout-hearted, baby; I would rather..

Subject: nobody knows this song, or do you?

WHO SANG IT? WHO WROTE IT? WHO PUBLISHED IT? It goes in one verse:
I feel like I could scream and cry this morning (2x)
I feel like I could scream and cry, but I'm stout-hearted baby, I would rather die; nobody knows the way I feel this morning

Thanks to whoever can help me on this, stonejohn

Hang in there, Stony, I'm working on it. That is, I've heard it on Jazz 88 in Newark NJ and will find someone there who knows it. Peace.

The artist who covered the song
seems to be Dinah Washington.

She sang it on the studio album,
Back to the Blues (1963) (Roulette label)
and the session musicians included Eddie Chamblee.

Washington and Chamblee married and divorced twice,
I believe.

The song title is NOBODY KNOWS THE WAY I FEEL THIS MORNING. Lots of people have recorded it. Two versions have been posted in another thread: Origin: Nobody Knows the Way I Feel This Morning.

If you want to discuss this song, please do so in that thread. (Click the link.)
