Hey, there are over 100,000 electronic voting machines (without any paer trail) being used. Many are Diebold machines. The CEO of Diebold has promised to "deliver" the election to Bush... You do the math... Don't take a Wes Ginny Slide Rule to know which way the wind blows... Bobert |

03 Sep 04 - 07:26 PM (#1263838) Subject: RE: The George Bush Song From: Big Al Whittle I dunno, all the Amwerican tv stations were saying what a brilliant speech. he's looking forward the other bloke is looking back. He obviously has something that we are missing. Perhaps they just don't like Kerry very much. He's standing up for foetuses and families and America thinks he knows what he's doing , counting machines or no. He obviously has his fans. And all the tv journalists are numbered amongst them - powerful friends! I know what you mean though Dave, it really does sound like complete tripe to a British ear. I can only think there must be some sort of cultural difference, and we aren't hearing a sub-text. |

03 Sep 04 - 07:36 PM (#1263845) Subject: RE: The George Bush Song From: emjay Thanks, weelittledrummer, but it sounds like a lot of tripe to a good many American ears, too, we just don't seem to know how to get rid of him. And his voice is extremely unpleasant to my ears. Sub tert? I think he is giving a lot of people permission to display their prejudices again and I don't mean those of us who are probably prejudiced against him. He now allows people to hate gays, non-christians, and by dis-enfranchising them, mistrust and hate other races. Also liberals, anti-war activists, feminists, and probably all the folk singers since everyone knows what they are. |

03 Sep 04 - 07:45 PM (#1263850) Subject: RE: The George Bush Song From: Big Al Whittle You know its 12.30 am here and I had just switched off my computer and I was headed to bed when suddenly it dawned on me what he seemed to mean and what all these learned journalists were applauding. He is in effect saying (am I right?) When an American woman gets pregnant, I am going to make her have a baby whether she wants to , or not. If this is what he is saying why doesn't he come out and say it. Incidentally - I can see its none of my business - but if you vote for that, if you don't at least make him say in a direct manner what he means - I think you're somewhat underusing your democracy...to say the least. |

03 Sep 04 - 07:54 PM (#1263859) Subject: RE: The George Bush Song From: Bill Hahn//\\ The only thing worse than the Dubya speech---nausea creating--was that of the sorry person that is the Gov. of my NY state. Pataki.. Though the twins were right in there to represent the true crap this is all about. . Can you believe such lame lines (Pataki) as---we will win this one for the Gipper. And, on cue, all the :"yahoos" in the audience held up their pre-arranged signs and like good automotons applauded the robotic Gov. Bill H |

03 Sep 04 - 11:48 PM (#1263969) Subject: RE: The George Bush Song From: GUEST Dave 'I hate George Bush' Of Mawkin: Nobdoy gives a rat about your apparent "British" opinion. Let's not forget your country's centuries old legacy of repression and subjugation. Bobert: Sounds like you're another of those liberal whiners. At least you have realized that Kerry will not be establishing a residence at Pennsylvania Avenue next Janaury. Of course, you are already attempting to establish grounds (once again) to invalidate election results. I defy you to show me any quote where "The CEO of Diebold has promised to 'deliver' the election to Bush". weelittledrummer: You are correct on the fact that we really don't like John Kerry at all. He does not reflect mainstream American values, and those who argue to the contrary are not part of that group. As far as "the Gipper" goes, history will regard him as one of the great presidents of the 20th century (perhaps you're too young to remember the mess things wew in '80 when Carter was president). Bill H: ...the audience held up their pre-arranged signs and like good automotons applauded... appears you did not see the Democratic convention. That's what people do at conventions you pinhead, they express enthusiasm for their candidates. Only bad thing about this election is it will ne the last tiome I will have the opportunity to vote for Bush. I have voted for him three times in the past, twice for governotr of Texas, and once for President. I look forward to celebrating his vicroy in November. |

Yes--the Dems were the same---my statement had to with the facial expressions on their faces---and on Pataki's. Though, I do believe the Dems were a bit more animated---you see this "pinhead" watched about as much as I could stomach of both. By the way---didn't Bush remind you of a guy on top of a wedding cake. I thought honor went only to Tom Dewey of years ago-=--he looked the part You know, Guest, maybe you want to assume "pinhead" as your scr\een name. He is rather vague about what he is going to do - which given the last few years , I think you should be wary of that. Why don't you ask him what he means. when I understand what he is talking about, I might be moved to song write about him. No shortage of rhymes for Bush tush thrush mush hush flush crush slush |
