I have the poem,'Bill's O'Jack',about a murder that took place at the Moor Cock Inn,Greenfields,W.Yorks in 1832. I need to know the following.
1.Are there only three verses
2.Who wrote it
3.When was Greenfields flooded, and why
4.Has the poem ever been set to music. I sing it to the tune   of 'McCafferty'. Any other suggsestions?
5. Is the Brothers Four hit,'Greenfields',about the same area.
6. Anything else re the subject

Don, from the information you've given I can't find anything more about the poem but there is a fictional account of the incident by an author called James Davenport titled "The Murders at Bill's O'Jack's: A Fictional Account of the Murders at the Moorcock Inn, Saddleworth, in 1832" which was published in 1985.

The Saddleworth Historical Society has a List of publications which include a guide to 'The Bill o' Jack's Murder Trail'.
