Good to hear of the resurrection, Bob. Wednesdays nights are difficult for me to make but I'll try to look in if I get a chance sometime. Good luck anyway with the new venue.

Good luck with the new session on Wednesday. It's a bit too far for me to get there, but I will be thinking of you all. Ask Dave Bishop to sing Joseph Taylor's 'Lord Bateman' for me.

Mary & Matthew,

Thanks for your good wishes.

Guest,

Yes the car park is behind the pub: access is from the North entry on Washway Road.

The function room upstairs is where the event will be staged.

The last two venues were great as pubs!! Indeed The Ardern which was the very last venue has just won CAMRA pub of the year.!!

The new venue is great for SINGING which is what we require and is prominent and easy to get to.

Your wish was granted Mary. Dave Bishop sang a lovely version of Lord Bateman as requested.

Excellent start - 8 singers and a self contained QUIET room.

Floodlit car park at rear of Pub

Should be here for a long long while!!.

Would love to come along one night but Wednesday's clash with another local club :o(

I too love to hear Dave Bishop sing Lord Bateman but the one for me is 'Man o War Boys'--(least I think that is the title but I am hopeless at remembering them)

One thing for sure the room will be filled with the very fine voices of all 'The Song Carriers'

Good singing to all. I hope you have found a permanent 'home'.

Cheers

Yvonne

Hi Yvonne,

Would love to hear you again rsn!

Wednesday was the previous time when we were at the Ducie.

Just seems to have been re-instated.

Pity about the clash with the other club.

The last line of my post of 15 sept 04 was somewhat premature :0(

Difficulties at the pub mean that the Wednesday sessions at the Volunteer
have been abandoned.

Nothing to do with PRS etc etc - just aggro.

Will post again if and when situation resolves.

I saw Terry in Sainsbury's t'other day; he tells me that sings will continue on Wednesday evenings in his rather luxurious and comfortable garden shed. Bring your own beer.
