Graeme Knights in Gainsborough 17th Sept

Graeme Knights is our guest at Gainsborough Folk Club on Friday 17th September (8.30pm in the Drovers Call)
I'm just writing a piece for the local paper and words fail me - just what can I say about Graeme?

GK = Unaccompanied traditional music at its loudest and best.
His "Thirteen florins on the bar" is the best rendition I ever heard.

Grae guarantees a great evening - ask him to do "something sensitive" and watch his reaction.

"Unaccompanied traditional music at its loudest and best" was apparently a quote from me. I can't remember saying it - must have been the tinnitus!

Best wishes.

Graeme? what can you say about him?
As we say in Hull "He'll do for me!!"
If you have never seen him I would urge you to do so, he is one of the best unnacompanied singers I have had the pleasure to hear - and I do mean hear!!!

Do you mean this one LOL

Now
Music: Roger Nichols / Lyrics: Dean Pitchford

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, Now when it rains I don't feel cold.
Now that I have your hand to hold,
The winds might blow through me but I don't care.
There's no harm in thunder if you are there.

And now, now when we touch my feelings fly.
Now when I'm sailing I know why.
You light up my world like the morning sun.
You're so deep within me, we're almost one.
And now all the fears that I had start to fade.
I was always afraid love might forget me, love might let me down.
Then look what I found.
[instrumental solo]

The winds might blow through me but I don't care.
There's no harm in thunder is you are there.

And now, now, now when I wake there's someone home.
I'll never face the nights alone.
You gave me the courage I need to win, to open my heart and to let you in.
And I never really knew how, until now, until now.

No, I never really knew how,----until now.

FOUR sensitive songs (amongst the confusion!)
A great night indeed.
Fly in the ointment? Somebody (no names no pack drill) phoned Grae in the middle of a song. His phone was on vibrate and he nearly slid off his stool! Anyone want to admit to it?

So, a good night was had by all by the sound of it (no surprise), and there was even sex on stage (phone vibrator going off). I only wish I'd thought of it myself!

If this phone vibrator was placed in ther wrong orifice - would that be hwo the expression "Talking out of your arse" came from :-)

Graeme came over all funny when the vibrator phone went off. Something was blowin in the breeze. :-)

If mine is on vibrate and in my pocket, then I feel its appropriate to let it ring again, and again, and again, and again, and again.
