Do any UK mudcatters in the Avon/Devon/Somerset/Dorset area know of a join-in session running this coming Friday?
I'm staying nr.Crewkerne&might have Fri.eve free-would hate to miss anything.Regular session player-violin/mando english/irish,not fussed, will join a chorus if everyone else does. Can't really go to a club as I'll have non-folkies with me.I know there's websites but they can be out of date,so I thought I'd ask the people who really know-thanks for your help,Geoff

A few Friday dates from the following -

I have no idea if these are current but the contact details are (mostly) given, so you should be able to establish this before venturing forth.

First Fridays
Acoustic Music Nights
Fifehead Magdalen village hall
Start 8 for 8:30
Contact John 01963 362477
The music is a mixture of modern and traditional folk song and
music. There is no pub and there are no refreshments so take
your own.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Second Fridays
The Blazing Stump Folk Club, The Royal Oak, Luxborough
Starts 8:30. This is a singaround/instrumental club and was
started in the mid seventies as a weekly club, but closed in
1998. Two years later it reopened on a monthly basis run by
George Ody. It takes place in the games room. Each month there
is a raffle, the proceeds from which will go to pay for an artist
at the club in the future.
Since starting up again this club has taken off well, with many
performers coming back from the original club.
The Royal Oak 01984 640319
George Ody 07970 116816
--------------------------------------------------------------
Last Fridays
Acoustic Club, The Granary, Cork St. Frome
--------------------------------------------------------------

Fridays
-------
The Meeting House, Ilminster
Music session (not just folk)
2nd and 4th Fridays
Peter Lansdown
.............................................................
The Mitre, Glastonbury
Folk Club
Every other Friday
