From: frogprince Actually, FBOFW comes out of Canada; I read it for quite a while before I caught a reference that made it obvious. When I read the comics, I carefully save it for "dessert"; the writer has both a great, rich sense of humor and the guts to go to some very deep places. |

22 Sep 04 - 12:31 AM (#1277949) Subject: RE: BS: For Better or Worse.... From: GUEST,Clint Keller I'm fond of redmeat.com myself. Better of Worse is equally good, but in a different direction. It's well drawn & well written but it's not as in-yer-face as redmeat. Different strokes by different folks. but I hate the part where I have to identify with grandpa. clint |

23 Sep 04 - 09:13 AM (#1279062) Subject: RE: BS: For Better or Worse.... From: Big Jim from Jackson Remember when they used to be called "Funny Papers"? Today there are so few that really fit that catagory. For Better or For Worse, reruns of Peanuts, and the old Calvin and Hobbs, and Pogo are/were probably top of the line. I know there are other strips that contain lots of chuckles, but the comic section just doesn't have that light-hearted quality that it used to have. I miss The Far Side, too. |

23 Sep 04 - 12:25 PM (#1279193) Subject: RE: BS: For Better or Worse.... From: Clinton Hammond I for one am glad that Bill Watterson stopped when he did, and I wish Gary Larson had been as smart... And well, I'da been happy if Peanuts hadda stopped about 34 years and some months ago... And if For Better Or For Worse and Ziggy had never started! |
