07 Oct 04 - 10:03 AM (#1291247) Subject: Session near Aberdare 23 Oct From: Splott Man Sessions are like buses! Just got this from Mike Greenwood "Hi there Following on from the success of last autumn's music day at the Falcon Hotel, Godreaman (nr Aberdare), there'll be a second informal gathering of like-minded musicians for a session/sessions (Welsh/English/Continental/Come what may...) on Sat. 23rd October 2004, from about 1pm and on into the night. For those who don't know the Falcon, it's a quaint, idiosyncratic, out-of-the-way place with a glazed verandah and patio, in a wooded valley off the Cynon, and by way of further enticement, mine host, Elwyn Samuel, is putting on a beer festival over the weekend with 20+ real ales. Please do come along, bring an instrument and tell a friend. NB For directions, see http://www.thefalconinn.net (OS ref SO 009001). We may be able to find floor space for those travelling from afar, or you can book rooms at the Falcon. Cheers Mike & Debbie" Ooh we're a busy little county when we want to be! Splott Man |

12 Oct 04 - 08:17 AM (#1295094) Subject: RE: Session near Aberdare 23 Oct From: Splott Man The map (which puts you within a quarter mile of the Falcon, but doesn't show it) is at: http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=301500&Y=200500&width=500&height=300&gride=&gridn=&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&zm=0&scale=10000&multimap.x=203&multimap.y=178 The pub's website is at: http://www.thefalconinn.net but has no postcode (which is helpful!) Aberdare, and more specifically, Cwmaman is in the Cynon Valley about 20 miles northwest of Cardiff. I'll try and find the postcode to access a specific map. Hope this helps so far. |
