Lincoln unplugged 18th Oct 2004

Tonight, Trtavelling Audience and myself attended the Drill Hall in Lincoln for a night of "Lincoln Unplugged"....I have to say we were very impressed by some of the performances and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a variety of live music...Folk, Blues and much more.
Tonight there was even a Hurdy Gurdy man who can play many mediaeval instruments and songs...some of which are humourous......what a night.
Best wishes, Mike.

As the hosts of the Lincoln Drill Hall 'Unplugged' night, we'd like to thank everyone who has been coming along to the merrily musical evenings (some from quite a way away!), and we really appreciate the feedback the nights have been getting on Mudcat.... we hope that we continue to attract such a wide range of talent in the future; if anyone reading this wants to take part at the next one (Mon Nov 15th), call Maurice Mulligan on 01522 873895. All welcome, whether performing or not, and it's FREE! There's also a bar (always a bonus, though it's not free...).
While we're here, can we let you know about the Drill Hall Unplanned night (an 'arts' open mic night) on Monday 1st Nov, again free of charge, and anyone is welcome to come and read from a poem or a book, re-enact a scene from a play, sing a song or try out something original and new!
Anyway, enough plugging....come and see for yourself!
All the best

What a pity this event directly clashes with Lincoln Folk Club. They have only been in their new venue for a few weeks and can do without the competition!

There is talk apparently about changing the night....but whichever night it changes to it is likely to clash with something...except perhaps Thursday or of course the weekend. Enjoyed Monday night as a "tester" but loyalty draws me back to the Folk Club.
Best wishes.

As it's right next door, couldn't we do a spot at each?

Well, it's another acoustic evening tonight at Lincoln's Drill Hall (central location, newly tarted up venue, entrance and car park next door on Free School Lane, next door to Library) and word has it that a new folk combo (styled "Na Buachaillí Báire") comprising my humble self and the world-renowned Gaucho will be appearing, albeit briefly (I expect!)
If you miss it, you can catch us at Market Rasen Folk Club next week..
