BS: Hull Takeaway - The repercussions

Ever noticed that when you see something funny and you're in a place where you really shouldn't be laughing, it makes you want to, twice as bad?!

Just been reading the Hull Takeaway thread, I'm at work and really shouldn't be on the net, and have just had to make up some excuse to explain to my boss (Who incidentally is on the next desk from me!) what I'm laughing at!

Errmmm...............Whoops!

Anyone else have this problem?

Muppitz x

I think we should have a bad language filter on Mudcat, I'm fed up seeing rude words like work in posts where you don't expect it. Don't you realise these threads are read by people who are easily frightened by the casual use of such words!

As my home 'puter is poorly ick, my Mudcatting is done from work (sorry about that word Giok) I put it down to "research into the environmental effects of recycling". Mention recycling and everyone backs away making signs of the cross and leaves you to it.

In 'ull we tend to pronounce it 'werk'...far less traumatising for the vast numbers of unwashed & indolent who seem to inhabit the place....

I once saw the word "buy" in a thread, it was put in there without a single thought for those of us who like to scavenge, I prefer procure to purchase - nothing illegal though, it has being this honest that has kept me this poor for so long!

Skipy

(P.S. had to "buy" the tickets for E2004)!

It's that out of date beer you've been drinking Skipy.

It's obviously repeating.

Nice try, just what I would have done.
However I wpould have used the cut & paste option, this would have avoided missing out the space between "hope & this"

Muppitz, the next time the boss wants to know why you are laughing at work, just say that you are not laughing, that you suffer from an unusual form of hiccups that merely sounds like laughter. Try not to smile while saying so.
