26 Oct 04 - 05:08 PM (#1307967) Subject: Wanted: Good quality C/F melodeon in UK From: Tradsinger I am seeking a decent C/F melodeon in the UK to replace my faithful but rather strident Hohner Erica. Does someone have a Saltarelle or Dino Baffetti that they are not using? Even a Castagnari if I can afford it! Gwilym http://www.cmarge.demon.co.uk/gwilym/index.htm |

John - I guess I would expect to pay about £300 from Hobgoblin for a reasonable one. Mine has internal amplification put there by Jeff Dando who also counts John K as a customer, so that should add some value to it. Gwilym |

I know that you're probably dying to acquire a new instrument, but have you experimented on the reeds on your old faithfull. I played mine for long enough to realise that the 'box' was not my instrument - and it was too loud for my purposes. I seem to recall that I could mask half the reeds to give it a drier and softer sound (more like a concertina). But that was nigh on 30 years ago. I should cash mine in and buy a set of good strings for my double bass. Regards, John |
