Hello everyone. After the excellent night on Monday with our guests on the second of our Winter Solstice Song Specials, here at "The Friendly Earth and Fretless Acoustic Club" I can't wait until the next singaround which is on Monday Nov 1st and is the last singaround before the fire works baked potato new roots and oh yes Bram Taylor night. So lets all turn up and pay homage to that great folk hero we all know and love. Yes that's right Ross Scrivener.

By the way did anyone go to the barn dance in aid of Friends of the Earth? Or go and see Alan and Malcolm last night?

Hi Martin - Can't wait to pay homage to Bram and the youngsters - it sounds like it's going to be a great night

I didn't go to the Barn Dance or the Sunrunner, so nothing to report there

Ampthill was very good - there was a three piece group playing and they were very good - put me in my place on the folk step ladder

only 10 days before my one and only solo gig - I'll probably retire afterwards

Can't get to George's launch - but make sure you clear the slipway

Oh yes and on Sunday lunch time 12 noon. at The Hardwick Arms Arrington. George Norris is running a singaround/session. Then later on Breezy has Christine Connolley and floorspots, at his Spotlight Club at The Royal British Legion, Verulam Road St Albans. Were that well known and feared HEAVY FOLK GOD Ross Scrivener will be playing on Sunday 7th Nov. (Which is the day just before our New Roots Fire Works and Baked Potatoes oh yes and Bram Taylor night)and don't forget we have our lovely singaround on this Monday. It's all going on.

I think it's 25 years, but there are rumours that the Romans started the sessions in 145 AD after they got bored with raping and pillaging; and Claudius got a lute for Christmas

Is 'heavy' a reference to my fat stomach - I've eaten six cow pies today and I'm still hungry - I'd better learn to play & sing in eight days - I thought I'd start off with the wild rover?

Yeah - I'm sorry I missed George's big night out - I've missed a few of them just lately - even the local one in Bedford

I'm just sending out e-mail with tomorrow's session details on

Not sure about the 'God' status Martin - is that better than being a 'dude'

Good grief - you mean we don't get to vote - that's quite a shock

I thought we were the 51st and bestest state, apart from Texas, Californication and Alaska

Luton is now part of Afghanistan - so if Bush gets in - ask him to liberate it

Yeah, you don't get to vote, you ale drinking, maypole humping, milksop.

We should have chased you brits off the face of the planet back in the independence days. Wherever Luton and Barton le clay are they are gonna get nuked, and every one of you yellow, apple eating, organ grinding English woofters is going get O-BLIT-ER-RATED.

Texas 4 ever.

Everyone must have heard you weren't coming; and stayed away in sympathy

I'm not putting myself about at all - I'd like to go to Letchworth - see what the weathers like - I won't go out on the game unless it's warm
