This no one can deny. It is, and there's no two ways about it. I just thought I would point this out before jOhn from Hull gets around to doing so.

was the silver cup that I found in a skip that had been stolen from Cambridge uni in 1965 "rubbish" (the cup was stolen, not the skip - before Mingulay jumps in!) just because it was in a skip is it really rubbish?
They thought "NOT" & now it is back in their trophey cabinet.
I could go on to list at least 100 things that I have found that are not "rubbish" & have been returned/found new homes.

Ah. Define it. Well, the whole concept of rubbish is very subjective, isn't it? What George Bush says, for example, may sound like rubbish to you or me, but it sounds like good sense to Doug R. Who can say who has the final authority on what is rubbish and what is not? A rotting fish is rubbish to me, but it's a very valuable item to my dog. So it goes.

You have thrown the whole concept of this thread into doubt, Carol!

define rubish - "frubish" yes, frubbish, the f was not a typo, defines something that someone has thrown away that is useful to another.

One man's rubbish is another's natural resource and an archeologist's treasure trove.
