As you're doing a Swarb Aid collection I've put the event on the Events page of the Swarb Aid web site.

Cheers Anahata,

We were going to try to take part in Otley but it wasn't possible to organise so this should help.

Many thanks

Cheers
Sarah

The Swarbaid thing has now metamorphosised (sp?) into a raffle with at least three bottles of good wine as prizes.

How did it go?
How much did you raise for Swarbaid?
(I'm just starting a "funds raised" page together for the Swarb Aid website)

Hi Anahata,

The gig was one we were already doing with the two bands but we were able to do a Swarbaid raffle which raised £40.

I sent the cheque off to the Living Tradition address on Monday.

I met Alistair Hullet at the Otley do on Friday and he is lovely = if you meet him, get him to tell you all his Swarb stories.

Cheers
Sarah

Hey Sarah, how did the ceilidh/concert go though? What format did you go for in the end? Always interested in how these things work for other people - seeing as I was being fairly pessimistic at you about the idea of having dancing and concert as part of the same event I'm hoping it went really well and proved me wrong :)

Hi Jess,

The only major problem we had was a cock-up by two newspapers publicising the event locally - one left off the telephone number for tickets, and the second (the main Holmfirth one) failed to carry the article until the day before (even though they had had written it up and sent it to the subs for the previous week). Because of this, we downsized it and held it in the upstairs civic. Having said that, we broke even and it was a very enjoyable evening for both audience and bands.

We ran the concert first and put the ceilidh on from 9pm. Howdenjones went down really well and the audience participation was excellent and fairly unexpected. Everyone danced to the Red Parrot Ceilidh.

Cheers
Sarah
