I've been listening to "Take Her in Your Arms" by ANdy Stewart and Gerry O'Bierne (their version anyway). I've been trying to tab the song myself, but I'm new to DADGAD tuning, so it's proving to be somewhat difficult. If someone could let me know where I can get the tabs (not just the chords) or sheet music for this amazing song. Thanks!

Not DADGAD but here are the chords - might make it easier for you to work it out..... great song

         Am             Em
Have you seen him on the corner
       F                   G
And his lip would reach the pavement
          Am             Em
He's been hiding from his razor
       F      G    Am
Is he not an awful sight?
                   Em
In love he was the purist
          F             G
Now he's frightening our tourists
       Am                G
If he'd gone and asked his father
       F         G       Am
Oh I'm sure he'd set him right,

chorus
         C                Em
Sayin': "take her in your arms
    F                G
And tell her that you love her
C                Em      F               G
Take her in your arms and hold that woman tight
          C               Em
Won't you take her in your arms
    F                  G
And tell her that you love her
          Am             Em
If you're going to love a woman
       F       G      Am
Then be sure and do it right."

I fairly sure that these are the chords.
TAKE HER IN YOUR ARMS
Capo on the 5th fret (so chords are actually Dm F C)
Am
Have you seen him on the corner
C                        G
And his lip would reach the pavement.
Am
He's been hiding from his razor,
C                G        Am
Is he not an awful sight?
Am
In love he was the purist,
C                        G
How he's frightening our tourists.
Am                        G
If he'd gone and asked his father
Am                    G               Am
Oh, I'm sure he'd set him right, sayin'

C
"Take her in your arms
Am                G
And tell her that you love her,
C
Take her in your arms
Am         G
And hold that woman tight.
C
Won't you take her in your arms
Am                G
And tell her that you love her.
Am                G
If you're going to love a woman
   Am                    G        Am
Then be sure you do it right."

Now he met her at a disco
In a dive in San Francisco
And it all might have been different
Had he seen her in daylight.
She was painted, she was scented,
But she drove your man demented
If he'd gone and asked his father
Oh, I'm sure he'd set him right, sayin'

Here's a pub with fun and laughter
The landlord's buying bevvy.
There's a session in the corner
And the crack is grand tonight,
But your man who's lost his woman,
He's still at home lamenting.
If he'd gone and asked his father
Oh, I'm sure he'd set him right, sayin'

Now, depression's not a million laughs
But suicide's too dangerous.
Don't go leppin' out of buildings
In the middle of the night.
It's not the fall --- but landin'
That'll alter social standin'
So go first and ask your father
Oh, I'm sure he'll set you right, sayin'

Here's a health to all true lovers,
Their sisters and their brothers,
And their uncles and their grannies,
For this thing is black and white.
If you're keen to start romancin'
With its leppin' and its dancin'
Then go first and ask your father
And I'm sure he'll set you right, sayin'

Thanks, thanks, thanks.

I heard the tune on Celtic Radio (AccuRadio) and fell in love with it. I'd passed over the album for some reason :(

I'm glad you all blazed the way through the chords.

Thank you , thank you, thank you.
Here is a song that I had lost in the memories of my mind. A beautiful one indeed. Thank you ALCY for finding this thread.

Sorry Cathy I didn't mean to follow what you said. I think maybe we kink of crossed threads. But were both in unison of what is being said.
