BS: No more bodies till next year Thank you.

True-Love and I both decided to leave our mortal remains to Melbourne's medical school. Not that we don't want to keep them for a long time yet, but we thought, best we make it official. True-Love had thought he would rather like medical students to have a bit of fun at the same time. It's a hard life as a medical student and he thought a few practical jokes would be the go. A friend warned us that if we suggested anything like that they wouldn't take us. They'd think we weren't suitable clients or something.
Anyway True-Love put on his most reverent voice and called up the university.

They said,
"Thank you for your offer but we don't need any more donations of that kind until after the new year"

Dead weird or what? Joy

Do they want you to book in in advance?    Or do they plan to phone you up and say "We can take you now, but don't delay or you'll miss your chance."

Perhaps they "do it while you wait"?
It's always better to leave it til after the January Sales anyway.........

I always get "enbalmed" at Christmas, too.

Maybe they already know what Santa is leaving under their tree?

We thought so too, Sir jOhn.

I guess Santa has lots of ice to keep folks fresh. Perhaps we should ring him. If we're feeling poorly before the New Year that is. Joy

I've sometimes felt that I was going to die on New Year's Day. Something to do with the night before, I think.

"I Ain't Got No Body" - that's a Merle Haggard song isn't it?

I don't know how big the medical school is but they probably don't have dissections every month. Perhaps you may get a better response and have your bodies do more good for science by allowing a broader range of research to be done on them. Perhaps a study of the size and weight of folksingers' brains and tongues is being conducted somewhere.

OK. Well maybe ebay is the way to go. Or bodysnatchers.com or something like that. folkiebodyforfunandreasearch.com
It's Melbourne University. The only centre in Victoria set up for this kind of donation.
It's ok for you, Jack. Any old tarpaulin jacket, a bit of a song and into the briny-deep. Fish in deep waters to swim over your head. Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum.

Whenever we old folks get together we dream about folkie retirement/nursing homes perhaps we should go the one step further. Of course we haven't set up the first bit yet. Probably won't get around to it. Cheery-bye (still trying out a new sign-off) Joy
