Musicians you want to see who are still

As a companion to the After They're Gone thread, what musicians do you really want to hear before they die?

In gospel, The Dixie Hummingbirds (who just sang in our area, on the same night I had a commitment...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.) Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver

Steve Earle and Lyle Lovett

It'll never happen, but I'd love to hear Syd Barrett! I'd also love to hear John Tams with the Home Service if they ever get back together.

Are we restricted to artists likely to die soon?

There are probably as many candidates whose demise could be deemed likely due to lifestyle as due to advanced age...

Of course I'll echo here my comments in the "deceased" thread, that I wish I could catch Pete Seeger back at the height of his powers (or even now, with his voice effectively gone).

And I wish it were practically possible to catch Utah Phillips. But both he and I are running out of time for that, and he's out west and I'm in Indianapolis.

I've seen Lyle Lovett, he is definitely on the A list, as is Tom Waits.

Is it still worth seeing Doc? If so, I'd love to still see him.

Dixie Chicks, I love their stuff, but their harmonies are kick ass & I don't think anybody out there right now has them beat.

Arlo, as I've never seen him.

Roseanne Cash--love that girl's voice.

Liam O'Flynn

Allison Kraus

Capercaillie

Wrigley Sisters

Tina Turner, but she insists she is retired now. I do hold out hope that she'll do a gig somewhere I might be...

Joni Mitchell

Ricky Scaggs

John Prine

And under the "if they ever did a reunion tour worth seeing" category:

The Kinks (if they've still got it)
Traffic (the orginals)
Rolling Stones

And if I thought their voices would still be good enough:

Everly Bros

Tony Bennett

Rickie Lee Jones

Van Morrison

Chris Hillman! Another gem of a musician, and probably the nicest damn guy you ever want to meet.

Uncle Dave-Utah is in Georgia this weekend for the demonstrations against the School of the Americas at Fort Benning. Is that too far?

A lot of country/new bluegrass acts on here. I'd love to see "the Chicks" or Alison Krause and Union Station... her voice absolutely makes me melt.
