Hi Skarpi

A friend of mine Alan Burke (group Afterhours) does a great version of Yellow Girls with just bodhran accompaniment.

Looking forward to meeting you in Portaferry.

Peace

How about "Rising of the Moon", a capella with bodhran accompaniment?

How's Skarpi!
Have a go at these... Lanigan's Ball, The Limerick Rake, The Well Below The Valley, for starters....

Don't forget... (Jam bacon and eggs. Jam bacon and eggs. Jam bacon and sausage and rashers and eggs)

All the best

The Rocky Road to Dublin goes well with just the bodhran.

I'll second the nomination on Lanigan's Ball, who did the great recording of that featuring the 'woman on the goat'(skin)?

Cyril Tawney's "Sally Free and Easy" is effective usung bodhran and vocal harmonies.
Burns' "Gae Bring tae me a Pint o' Wine" is another.
"The Land of McLeod"
Burns' "Ye Jacobites by Name".

Hi Sharpi

A few I've used that seem to work well with the bodhran:

Crooked Jack, Irish (a quickly paced tune of the Star of the County Down)

Queensland Drovers/Overlanders, Australian

Danny Deever words by Kipling tune by Peter Belamy. Tune is sung at in different timing than the drum. For the drum I use a death march.

Swag All on My Shoulder, Australian

Langford Weaver, Irish, see threads on versions of the Carlton Weaver or Nancy Whiskey

Sorry Sharpie, there are others that I used to do but I can't recall them at the moment, getting rusty.

Good Luck, Barry

Erin Go Bragh, Scottish as sung by Norman Kennedy
