29 Nov 04 - 11:13 AM (#1342130) Subject: Concertina in 'Being Julia' From: black walnut I was at a William 'Grit' Laskin slide show and concert on the weekend. Grit is one of the world's finest luthiers and master of inlay. He is also a singer-songwriter, lover of trad, and multi-instrumentalist. He played some concertina at the concert, and told us that he's the guy playing a concertina solo in the movie 'Playing Julia'. I haven't seen the movie yet, but it's playing in theatres now. Has anyone here seen it? If so, did you notice the concertina solo? ~b.w. |

His inlay work is well known instrumental and song writing skills are well known; but what's not generally known is that he's also one of the funniest humans on earth. At several of the annual "The Woods" musical learning weeks, he kept us all well supplied with belly laughs. |
