29 Nov 04 - 04:11 PM (#1342374) Subject: BS: Query for Spanish speakers From: Arnie I'm re-learning Spanish at the moment for an exam. Reading Spanish mags, I notice that the US is shown as EE.UU in Spanish - well it's called Estados Unidos, but that should be EU - anyone know why it's two E's and two U's?? Perhaps it's a case of 'so good they named it twice?' Anyway, it's been puzzling me for a few days so any realistic suggestion would be more than welcome. Mil gracias Arnie |
