I know it's a while yet, but just so's you can slip it in your diaries....

We'd like to have an open house session on Monday 27th December, Boxing Day. We're in Plaistow, East London, not too far from the Black Lion pub and we have sleeping space available if needed.

We'd aim to start sometime in the late afternoon, a mixed session so come along after the family visits are over or the Morris team have worn you out!

There will be food and drink, but any donations will be gratefully eaten.

Vegetarians, Vegans, Carnivores and awkward buggers catered for.

PM myself or Manitas for the address if you are interested and don't know where we are.

The official Boxing Day is Monday 27th December. Sunday 26th is Christmas Sunday or St Stephen's day. Religious holy days take precidence over secular days off. It seems that most Morris teams are dancing out on the Sunday, so Monday, the Boxing Day bank holiday, is vacant.

There may be sprouts. There WILL be chocolate (if I haven't eaten it all by then). Bring children if you like, there will be DVDs and things around for them to watch or they can join in, we don't care!

Hi Liz!

I won't make it to Plaistow on 27 December, but hope to see you with Manitas and Bratling out with Herga Mummers on St Stephen's Day.

We will be there.... in some form or another.... Hopefully Manitas will have his own dress this year and not have to borrow mine again.

We've got the beer in, so if no-one comes, I'm going to have a very merry season!

The BBC in its programmes, and I believe, more signifcantly perhaps (for this forum), most Morris Dancers, were in agreement that Boxing Day was still the day after Christmas Day, even though it was a Sunday, and that today was Bank Holiday Monday (to be followed by Bank Holiday Tuesday).

I think that is the normal arrangement when Christmas Day comes on a Sayurday.

Bugger the BBC.. today really is Boxing Day..... Last time it happened, the Radio Times had Christmas Sunday, with Boxing Day on Monday.
