BS: Freightdawg's friend needs some prayers

I'm convinced prayers do work. I have a co-worker who has a young nephew (I think around 3 years old). The little fellow has been battling a rare and mostly terminal form of brain cancer for some time now. My friend received a phone call this week telling him that the family may need to move up their Christmas plans, because the little guy probably won't live until the 25th.

I lost my father on Dec. 15th of 1990, so I know the despair of losing a family member during this time of year.

I cannot imagine the pain of young parents facing this enormous loss at any time of year, but this month seems especially cruel.

I'd appreciate your kind thoughts to the Divine.

Thanks,

Freightdawg

I'll pass on hopes and prayers to The Big Guy, Freightdawg. The family must be in terrible turmoil. Man, this is sad.

aawww...i had a niece taken by cancer at this time of year a few years back. seems so unfair when a kid has to go thru this, and for all thier family members, too... hugs to all...and teddy bears...there is a c.d. that helped me....one recorded by a woman who lost her daughter Jessie to cancer. it is a benefit for the childhood cancer research programs..
maybe your friend could find it helpfull too...Somewhere Between Heaven & Earth ~ Cindy Bullens---http://www.cindybullens.com/

there are some links on her page for suppport for grieving parents
for when the time comes.....
shit, it just ain't natural for parents to have to bury their children.
should be the other way around...

So sorry to hear about this, fd. At least losing my dad so near the holidays was mitigated by him having had a good, long life of 87.5 years. It just doesn't seem right for a little one to go, at all, let alone around such a significant time.

Good thoughts and meditations from her for you, your friend, and their family. May they find solace in what time they've had and not get too hung up on the "why" for there's never an adequate answer.

In sorrow and peace,

kat

Hey FD!

The family's prayers are comin' at your friends - I also asked my old friend Sister T. to put in a word (When I was in the RN I never expected to have a nun for a pal - and a Geordie one at that)I'm sure she has a 'direct line'

Pass on our love won't you?

I have added you and your friends to my prayer list. I will pass this on to others. Mostly I will pray for peace for this child and his family.

Bad enough any time of year, but rougher to have things like this happen when everyone else is partying and full of holiday cheer.

I'm holding the family in prayers and love.
