That is a real shame because I have rarely come across somewhere so acoustically perfect (from the 'stage' end). Lots of wood and no carpet. Steve, most people were newer to the club than from it's days at the Fitters Arms (which thankfully isn't part of the redevelopment programme). Looks like the folk night might have to move back there soon. |

Thanks for asking, Sarah. It's a great shame about the pub coming down. There's been a campaign to save it for several years now: it really is a lovely old Victorian building. Still, Walsall is a place that's never taken any pride in its heritage -- apart from Sister Dora, and she was from Yorkshire, which must tell us something. I hate the town -- and I love it ... I'd better stop, too much nostalgia is bad for you! Steve |
