From: Metchosin Thanks gnu, yeah it was really hard, I blubbered around here for quite awhile, her passing seemed to signify a lot of other passings too. I should have mentioned, instead of being a smart ass, that Cammy was my daughter's old pony and unlike moggies, preparing a final resting place for a horse is in itself another ordeal and not particularly dignified for man nor beast. Although I spent a long time sitting in the rain and muck, at least I got to cradle her old head and experience the light leave her gently. We've still got another and despite the fact that Sailor bullied her about, he's one sad pony now that she's gone. I won't be seeking a replacement, the rain now makes my bones ache too when winter comes and just one, is more than enough to deal with from here on. |
