Here's a few details of the action in the next couple of weeks:

Weds 15th Dec
Bull's Head, Mobberley. Informal music session & sing. A jolly affair with a really friendly bunch of singers & musicians.

Thursday 16th Dec
Sale Waterside (Sale Town Hall). Sid Kipper. Tickets £8.00.

The Railway, Heatley, near Lymm. Christmas concert with Garva. Should be good, but get there early to be sure of a seat.

Sunday 19th Dec, Lunchtime until around 6.30pm (ish)
The Bird in Hand, Mobberley. Dancing, singing, drinking, falling over, playing music, eating, falling over, having fun etc etc. An event not to be missed! It's a shame it's only once a year.

Wednesday 22nd Dec. The Railway, Heatley, near Lymm. Song in the Snug. Informal and cosy get together of singers. With butties 'cos it's Christmas.

Thursday 23rd Dec. The Railway, Heatley, near Lymm. Singers Night Christmas party.

Sunday 26th Dec, Lunchtime until around 5pm (ish). Dancing at pubs around Lymm & Dunham, but ending up at the Swan with Two Nicks, Dunham, for a sing & play.

Sat 1st Jan. The Railway, Heatley, near Lymm. Lunchtime until late afternoon. Happy new year! Music & singing.

The Harrington Arms, Gawsworth. Lunchtime until late afternoon. Music session.

Correction to the 26th December at the Swan with Two Nicks.
The venue is now the Railway, Heatley, near Lymm. A fine public house serving superbly kept beers, well situated on the Trans-Pennine Trail for those who prefer to cycle.

There are also Xmas party nights at the Fox and Goose and the Seven Stars, both in Wigan, next week, but can't remember off the top of my head which night they are on. Anyone know?

Christmas singarounds in Wigan:

Tuesday 21st at the Fox & Goose, Wigan Lane
Thursday 23rd at the Seven Stars, Wallgate (by Wigan Pier)

Both start at 9pm with free admission - bring some food to contribute to the Buffet, and hopefully some seasonal songs (but this is not compulsory).

Everyone is welcome - the more the merrier.

And the following week, we're closed on the Tuesday Bank Holiday, but it's our normal singaround at the Seven Stars on Thursday 30th.

Season's Greetings to all, and would love to see old friends and new.

Further details about what's on around Christmas, and indeed any time, can be found in Folkal Point - although this is no longer going out on email (due to my having lost internet access), it is still going up on the folk club website: Wigan Folk Club

Best wishes,
Joan
