The media is saying he resigned because he has lost support because he insulted cabimet members in his book. This means that as soon as the cabinet forgive him he can return to a senior position and he will have bypassed the misuse of position issue. Bottom line NO real change on a permenent basis but he has sold a lot more books. Cllr |

He has constantly been given credit for the Socialist Republic of S. Yorkshire and its cheap bus fares policy in Sheffield. Cobblers. The low cost bus fares was a policy set up by the South Yorkshire County Council in 1974 and applied equally across South Yorkshire the main towns of which were Rotherham Doncaster and Barnsley. Blunkett became Leader of Sheffield Council in 1979. As for flying the Red Flag over the Town Hall, the local hierarchy in the Labour Party fought tooth and nail to stop this happening. Don't let the facts spoil a good story. (folkiedave) Dave Eyre |
