Artistes confirmed so far include Ralph McTell; Show of Hands; Oysterband; The Sharon Shannon Band; Jez Lowe & The Bad Pennies; The Eliza Carthy Band; Harvey Andrews; Chris Newman & Maire Ni Chathasaigh; Rod Clements; Eleanor McEvoy; and Country Joe McDonald. As there'd been rumours that the Festival might not be happening in 2005 we wanted to get in early and assure everyone that it most certainly will be taking place as normal in all our usual venues. Anyone wanting further information can e-mail http://www.eastfest@talk21.com and our website should be updated before the New Year. |

All the concerts are indoors and there are some fine late-night sessions. Everyone is very friendly: stewards, door staff, stallholders, performers, audience, everyone. It doesn't take over the town in the way that Chippenham, Broadstairs and Sidmouth do but it is a good way to ease yourself into another festivals season and the music is always of a very high quality with good sound systems as well. In short, I recommend it. |
