19 Dec 04 - 07:45 AM (#1361047) Subject: RE: BS: Bush Cranks Up Yet Another War?!?!?.... From: gnu CC... point well taken. However, if Li'l Kim IS a threat to the region's stability, it will fall to China to act. The US will not get involved militarily without China leading the way... big business, in the US and in China, won't allow the trade between the east and the west to suffer due to western action against NK. Iran has taken a much more moderate approach since the two most powerful military forces on earth were used unilaterally to take out the big kid on the block with extreme prejudice. The action was not aimed solely at Iraq but at the region : it certainly has changed the attitude of Iran, Syria, Libya, and others. Then again, I know more about the NFL than global politics. |

19 Dec 04 - 10:02 AM (#1361101) Subject: RE: BS: Bush Cranks Up Yet Another War?!?!?.... From: Little Hawk Hell, who wouldn't change their attitude, with a massive invasion force next door bombing everything to blazes and the World's biggest navy parked on the doorstep? Would you "change your attitude"? I'm sure most people would. I heard that Kim has a little sign on his desk saying something like, "It's survival, stupid!". That's the fact of the matter. He and the Iranians are doing what they figure they must in order to merely survive as self-governing nations. Saddam did all kinds of extraordinary things to forestall that invasion. He even dismantled some of his pathetic little conventional warhead missiles! (as if if really mattered, because they were little threat to anyone) What country under imminent threat of invasion disarms itself and willingly exposes all its defence systems to the World??????? A country which doesn't have a chance, that's what kind, and is hoping against hope that it will not be illegally attacked by a rampaging aggressor. The biggest criminals in this international farce are the British and the Americans, who are pretending to protect the World from terrorism while they themselves are terrorizing people and occupying small countries and practicing grand imperial policy in search of oil reserves and World domination. |

19 Dec 04 - 02:38 PM (#1361280) Subject: RE: BS: Bush Cranks Up Yet Another War?!?!?.... From: CarolC The US media is still beating the war drums about Iran. As long as they keep doing that, there is a very good chance that Iran is in the crosshairs of the US government. That's how it works. They deluge the US voters with propaganda about their chosen targets through the US media to whip up public support for their military adventures. Keep a close eye the US news media to see who's going to be invaded next. |

19 Dec 04 - 02:45 PM (#1361287) Subject: RE: BS: Bush Cranks Up Yet Another War?!?!?.... From: CarolC ...anyway, it's not really about how the government of Iran behaves at all. It's about who controlls the real estate that Iran sits on. The US government would like to control that real estate (and the resources that lie under it), and they very likely will create whatever pretense they need in order to "justify" doing so. |
