Carpe Diem = Seize the fish
Then there's Leather carp, Common carp, Mirror carp, and Koi carp.
What have you got against carp anyway? They're very popular at Christmas in Germany.

Do carp have anything to do with carpal tunnel syndrome? Never knew they lived in tunnels.

Great things about the 70's:

Neil Young, Jackson Browne, beautiful long hair, leather clothing, the Rolling Thunder Revue, "Blood on the Tracks" and "Desire" and "Street Legal", Warren Zevon, CSNY, and the final victory of Vietnamese forces over the US of F-ing A!

I was completely turned off by mainstream American pop culture when the 60s ended in about 1973 -- but I found a wonderful secret little local culture in New Orleans, where the 1970s saw the rediscovery of Professor Longhair, the founding of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the establishment of Tipitina's, the emergence of the Dirty Dozen and a new brass-band tradition, and a whole lot of other great stuff.
