BS: Copycat Thread Name Game

02 Jan 05 - 03:04 PM (#1369511)
Subject: BS: Derivative-Thread Name Game
From: wysiwyg

A snazzy thread seems to beget more threads of similar bent. Why not play it as a game instead of ALWAYS starting a copy-cat thread?

Suggested Game-- Post here, the name of the thread that grabbed you, and maybe a paste of that thread's first post. Add the name of the thread you COULD start, and whatever the first post would be.

After awhile it ought to get pretty funny!

What Have "What Have ____ Ever Done For Us?" Threads Ever Done For Us?

This is a great idea Susan! No more need to be called "stoopid" and "dumbass" for starting derivative threads! No more need to put people on your shit list for calling you "stoopid" and "dumbass" for starting derivative threads!

And, anyway, you can use a thread name like mine above that's way too long to ever fit in the subject window, and you can use HTML tags.

I predict a long life and many posts for this thread. But what do I know? I'm just a stoopid dumbass.

What an original lot we've become. Today we have....

BS: Why do you offend so easily?
which begat BS: Bobert's Race Thread
which spawned BS: Brucie's thread and Bee-dubya's Race Thread
as well as BS: Do not open, 'You'll be offended'

All that instead of USING PMs.

Then to show our stunning intellects:
BS: Big Breasts?....... HAD to result in BS: Big Beasts

Not to mention BS: I blame the Romans... (for rabbits) led to BS: Blame Normans.

On a lighter note,
BS: Will we all go together when we go?
BS: Obit - The World
BS: CANADA SAVES THE WORLD !!

And a little duplicate lobbying:
BS: Walmart: Union-Busting SOP
BS: How many Mudcatters shop at Wal Mart?

Sheeshe.

I have an insane desire to start a thread in counterpoint to Bobert's "Butt Crack vs G-Strings" called "Butt-Cheese vs Toe-Jam". I would also love to start one called "Crapslinger Elected Poop". But I thought I'd be a good boy and do it here like I'm supposed to. I hope somebody is proud of me.

BWL, if it matters at all, I am thrice proud-- proud you remembered this thread, proud of the wonderful ideas that came to your agile mind, and proud you chose to restrain yourself!

I notice the begats, above, have spawned further begation. Like inbred cousins, the threads breed a weak strain.

All the best, skipy.

I want to thank those of you who heard the difference between frustration being expressed, and a desire to control. There's a niceness about having grasped the distinction that means a lot to me. Cooperation is a higher value than "obedience," isn't it? (It's mutually creative cooperation I'm usually aiming for.)

Friends?

It will help people enjoy the game more if people post the thread-name their copycatting, too; of course right NOW we all know that "Where is Micca" is a current thread, but just like with the Thread Name Game, some people arrive a little late to the party and may be mystified.

Anyway, have fun! Between Misread Threads, TNG, and now this one, there are lots of ways to play.

We have 2 threads: Gay/anti gay issues and rain/anti rain issues.

I thought I'd start one called brain/anti brain issues because I don't think we should have to think unless it is absolutely necessary - it takes too much energy.

Anti brain because it's easier!

God help me for even thinking this one..............Not a copycat thread exactly but this doesn't fit any other category and if I don't post it here I fear I'll just say "Fuck it" and post it elsewhere even less appropriate.

I can't help myself but everytime I see the thread titled "Mary Benson had a stroke," I want to add "EE-I-EE-I-OH."

Spaw! God help us both!
'cos I always think something worse, like who was the lucky chap? though having had a mini stroke myself, I am all too aware that it is no laughing matter.

For me try...... Is your Grammar up to date?

I would like to start an 'Is your GRANDMA up to date? thread as a copycat

Or, as it is time for us all to catch colds here in the northern hemisphere, I would like to counter 'noise nuisance' with a new thread entitled.....'NOSE nuisance'

I could go on, but I wont............
I think perhaps its soeone elses turn;0)
