Survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Astell aged 92. All my heroes seem to be going! Good obit in todays DT. Interesting to learn that the thing I first remember him for 'Dreamin' of thee, Dreamin' of thee.... was written by (of all people) Edgar Wallace, the thriller writer. FC |

10 Jan 05 - 01:50 PM (#1375997) Subject: RE: BS: Obit: Cyril Fletcher From: GUEST Before Cyril Fletcher started appearing on Thats Life, there was someone called Ronald Fletcher who fulfilled a similar role (reading out amusing bits from newspapers, etc). He seemed taller and thinner and possibly somewhat older than Cyril (I think he was grey haired)and had a fairly similar, if perhaps slightly more cultivated voice. Does anyone (in the UK) know if he was related to Cyril Fletcher? |
