04 Jan 05 - 05:45 PM (#1371388) Subject: Bob Davenport From: Jim McLean I had a rather disturbing message tonight. Ian Campbell (Birmingham) has said that Bob Davenport has died. Could anyone, hopefully, deny this. |

04 Jan 05 - 06:10 PM (#1371428) Subject: RE: Bob Davenport From: McGrath of Harlow I hope it's not true. Bob is a great lad. I hope it it might just turn out to be a misunderstanding. I entered "Bob Davenport" into Google News, and up flashed stuff about an American sportsman called - here's a report about some famous - Bob, who died on Friday in a town called Davenport in Iowa at the age of 89. |

05 Jan 05 - 02:24 PM (#1372243) Subject: RE: Bob Davenport From: treewind I subscribe to a mailing list for British pro/semi-pro performers. If anything had happened to Bob I'm very sure someone would have posted the news by now, and nobody's mentioned it. I take that as pretty good evidence that he's fine. Anahata |

05 Jan 05 - 04:09 PM (#1372327) Subject: RE: Bob Davenport From: GUEST,Peter from Essex It was pretty obvious that the rumour was false considering the lack of anything posted elsewhere. I don't know Bob personally but I did mention the rumour to a mutual friend who confirmed that he is alive and well. |

05 Jan 05 - 04:37 PM (#1372348) Subject: RE: Bob Davenport From: McGrath of Harlow At least when the word got out (falsely) that Dave Swarbrick had died, he got an obituary out of it. Touch wood, of course - but if this really was a misunderstanding, that is great news. |
