Have they still got that fireplace thingy in the middle of the room?
I remember it used to get very hot in there, fortunately the pub is situated virtually opposite the best pork pie manufacturer/retailer in england- so one could seek solace in suet crust pastry - YUM.
Sounds like it's going to be a superb evenings entertainment, only wish i could have made it there.

Say hello to Boog - (a/the regular)

I've seen every performance so far on this year's tour of The Gathering (I'm driving for them). It's SUPERB. Just to correct John (Oombanjo)'s spelling it's Tom Sauber, Brad Leftwich, Alice Gerrard and Debby McClatchy. Tom Sauber is a first class fiddler, banjo player (2/3 finger and clawhammer) and guitar player. Brad Leftwich wrote the definitive book on Round Peak style banjo playing but only plays his superb truly authentic fiddle this tour. Alice plays guitar and fiddlesticks beautifully. All three are fine solo and harmony singers. Most folk audiences in the UK have seen Debby over the last thirty years and know how great she is at singing, banjo playing and dancing..
I'll miss tonight's Melton Mowbray gig - I had to get home for a night - but I'm looking forward to friday night in the Bridgewater Arts Centre, Somerset - even if it does involve a lot of driving.
Cheers
